What Happens If My Cat Doesn’t Drink Water?

If cats don’t drink water, they risk dehydration. Dehydration is a life-threatening problem. Cats can only live between 48 and 72 hours when dehydrated. Until this point, the loss of function in the vital organs begins to appear. That’s why cats have a limited amount of time to realize that they have a dehydration problem. Symptoms of dehydration in cats include:

Decrease in energy

Breathlessness

Dry, pale gums

Collapsed image in the eyes

Since these symptoms are signs of severe dehydration, encouraging the cat to drink water may not work at this point. To avoid bigger problems, it is recommended that you inform your vet immediately about this condition and ensure that your cat is treated as soon as possible.
